This subject begins clinical training for graduate medical laboratory and clinical scientists. In partnership with the Pathology and Clinical Measurements teams students will undertake twelve weeks of clinical rotation in professional medical or clinical science laboratories. This professional placement is underpinned by a multidisciplinary, integrated and structured program which includes ongoing written assignment, clinical case presentations and competency assessment. Students successfully completing professional placement in the Clinical Sciences major will develop high level skills in cardiac, respiratory, sleep and neuro sciences. Students successfully completing professional placement in the Medical Laboratory Science major will have high level skills in Haematology, Clinical Biochemistry, Clinical Microbiology, Transfusion medicine and histology and cytology techniques.
Learning Outcomes
