This subject builds in prior learning experiences in Biomedicine and requires students to apply, consolidate and extend their discipline knowledge and skills to design and complete a biomedical research project. The project design will be determined by students in consultation with staff. Projects will be developed in small groups to provide team management and interpersonal communication skills in a professional context. Students will complete workplace orientated performance management plans and critically reflect on their performance and plans for improvement. Students will develop skills in constructing a research hypothesis, protocol design, experimental techniques, quality control, data collection and analysis. Students will present experimental results in an oral format and propose future experiments in the context of a grant proposal. Student will compile and showcase their discipline knowledge and skills in the format of a job application. ** Please note this subject includes a 2 day intensive in O Week of SP2.
