This subject consists of an introduction to the theories and methods that will equip students to undertake an honours project in the humanities. Through shared discussion, skills-based workshops, and independent study, students will engage with relevant scholarship and practices shared across the humanities, specific to their discipline, and tailored to their independent research project.
Learning Outcomes
- analyse and synthesise advance theoretical knowledge relevant to undertaking higher-level research in the humanities in general and in a discipline specialism in particular;
- design and formulate an approach to undertaking deep and sustained analysis of a complex problem in a discipline area in the humanities;
- identify, justify and employ appropriate methodologies for undertaking an independent research project a discipline area in the humanities.
