The aim of this subject is to prepare Indigenous and non-Indigenous students to work respectfully alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples by providing students with culturally appropriate skills and theoretical frameworks. Students will be encouraged to develop a critical awareness of the unique, complex, historical and contemporary relationships between social work and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples including social structures, systems, inequities and injustices, and how to apply professional knowledge and skills to address injustices.
