This subject will provide the physiological basis, practical skills and scientific knowledge necessary to prescribe exercise. Students will develop knowledge and capacity to design and implement safe yet effective goal-specified exercise programs that are evidenced-based for the low risk healthy population and those with medical conditions, such as diabetes, obesity, asthma and cardiovascular disease. The subject will also cover the planning and logistics of exercise programming with appropriate progression, regression and exercise cessation according to typical risk factors identified during pre-screening.
