This subject examines concepts of inclusion and exclusion in the contemporary healthcare environment. The unique needs of different populations and communities in respect of health care are explored. Strategies for ensuring inclusive practice, particularly in relation to vulnerable and disadvantaged groups are examined.
Learning Outcomes
- discuss concepts of inclusion and exclusion in contemporary health care;
- critically examine social and political elements of inclusive healthcare practice;
- describe how inclusive practices promote and sustain the well-being of people using health services;
- identify vulnerable and disadvantaged populations and communities in relation to healthcare contexts.
