This subject continues from ML5301 in the study of the clinical aspects of biochemical analysis. Endocrine function and analysis of disorders, protein and immunoglobulin determination, therapeutic drug monitoring and tumour markers, iron and lipid disorders. The issues of enzyme analysis and immunoassays will be discussed and practised. Advanced analytical methods will be introduced. The subject will use case study tutorial sessions to facilitate the teaching of the clinical interpretation of results. This subject completes the professional competency required for a graduate clinical biochemistry, medical laboratory scientist.
