Knowledge of advanced manufacturing engineering and technology for a wide spectrum of materials, material selection in engineering and areas of emerging technologies. Topics covered include precision machining processes, advanced machining processes, rapid prototyping and freeform fabrication; micro-fabrication, nano-fabrication and medical manufacturing; materials selection - the basics and case studies; process selection - case studies; materials and the environment.
