This capstone project will provide the culmination of the Master of Data Science degree, showcasing the skills and knowledge acquired throughout the degree to solve complex data-driven real world problems of relevance to industry, science, government or society in general. Students (or teams of students) will be embedded in industry, government departments or work under the guidance of staff members. The capstone project will allow students to create a portfolio that can be used to demonstrate skills to potential employers.
Learning Outcomes
- apply data science skills, knowledge and techniques to solve complex data-driven real world problems;
- project manage the solution to the problem including conceptualizing the problem, planning, assessing and implementing a solution, either individually or as part of a team;
- communicate effectively the results of the project both orally and in written form at a career-ready level appropriate for the client.
