English for Academic Purposes Level 3 is designed to cover four main areas of reading, writing, listening and oral communication. The subject is an English for Academic Purposes (EAP) course based on discussion of topics related to the modern globalised world. The subject will enable students to develop their English proficiency to a high level and increase access to JCU tertiary programs, especially programs that require IELTS level 6.0 level equivalence.
Learning Outcomes

- engage in academic practices related to researching and referencing;
- draw on a range of reading and listening strategies;
- derive literal and interpretive meaning from written, spoken and visual academic texts;
- construct a range of written, spoken and visual academic text types;
- display critical reading and thinking skills through extended writing and speaking on academic topics;
- work collaboratively to achieve learning outcomes.
