This subject builds on students' knowledge, understanding and experience of leadership to advance their thinking on how leaders can create value in organisations and beyond, in communities, societies, nations and global networks. The subject offers a unique opportunity for students to consolidate and deepen mastery of their core leadership principles through analysis, synthesis, application and reflection. In this subject, students will discover and strengthen their own contributions and effectiveness in driving business value, competitive advantage, and constructive change. They will broaden their knowledge of global geo-political fundamentals and deepen their understanding of the complexities of businesses as they relate to such areas as strategy, integrity and risk management. In this subject, students will gain a unique insight into businesses and how they can be more effective and successful in themselves and as part of the global landscape. This subject firstly introduces students to a foundation on Value Creation issues and what they mean within the business environment of the 21st century by way of practical examples and case studies. This builds an appreciation and understanding of how modern smart businesses can capitalize on current developments, and avoid any negative consequences. This subject is a core requirement for the Master of Business Administrations major in Leadership.
