Mathematics 2 is designed for students with a strong interest in mathematics and for those intending to study science and health subjects at university. In Mathematics 2, students will develop analytical skills and knowledge to prepare them for the demands of study in these discipline areas.
Learning Outcomes
- use trigonometric rules to solve numerical problems. Simplify trigonometric expressions using appropriate rules;
- use appropriate rules to differentiate a variety of functions. Apply these in the context of curve sketching and finding tangents and normal to curves;
- use appropriate rules to integrate a variety of functions. Use definite integrals to find areas and volumes;
- apply the concept learnt to solve practical problems.
Prerequisites: | A Pass or Advanced Standing in FS0304 is a prerequisite for FS0404 Mathematics 2. |
