Students who have a SA in Senior French are not permitted to enrol in this subject.
This subject assumes no prior knowledge of the language and is therefore intended for students who are beginners or near-beginners in the language. This course is suitable for any student wishing to obtain some second language skills for a future career, as well as for those who are starting a degree in languages. The aim of this course is to achieve a level of proficiency in reading, speaking, listening and writing basic French. The course is taught using a range of authentic resources, with a particular focus on the Francophone countries located to the East of Australia, as well as the Contacts textbook by Valette & Valette.

- develop a general awareness of the Francophone world in the Pacific.
