The subject involves both practical and theoretical explorations of the art of creative writing. It covers a wide range of the essential techniques required to create successful poetry, prose and dialogue. An emphasis will be placed upon students developing a broad skills base, rather than specialisation in any one genre. Aspects of presentation, audience reception, editing and cultural contexts will be covered.
Learning Outcomes
- students completing this subject should develop skills in writing and editing creative work in a range of genres;
- students should be able to present creative work for publication and performance at a professional standard.
