This subject is available to all students who possess a relevant undergraduate degree or diploma approved by the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the Faculty of Arts, Education and Social Sciences.

ED5912 Social Learning Perspectives for a Sustainable Future, explores the role of learning in creating a more habitable world. This subject investigates learning as a means for addressing wicked problems; how to develop learning pathways to met sustainability goals; the principles of and for sustainability decision-making; pedagogies and contexts for effective co-learning; strategies for developing sustainable partnerships and the role of online learning communities in promoting sustainability. Using a framework of multi-scale learning - through international, national and local partnerships and between organisations, groups and individuals - this subject makes explicit the links between co-learning, planning and action to create more sustainable socio-environmental options and to develop stronger and more resilient communities. ED5912 is an AQF level 9 subject that aims to consolidate your knowledge of socio-ecological systems and processes with a view to enhancing your capacity to understand the role of learning in sustainability practice.
