Credit points: 03
Year: 2018
Student Contribution Band: Band 1
Administered by: College of Arts, Society & Education

Available only to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood)

This subject will prepare, pre-service teachers (PSTs) to teach technologies positively, including coding and robotics. PSTs will design learning experiences where young learners use ICT effectively and appropriately to access, create and communicate information and ideas, solve problems and work collaboratively. In the process, PSTs will demonstrate a sound understanding of the content and processes of both subjects of the Australian Curriculum: Technologies and the safe, responsible and ethical use of ICT. Additionally, PSTs will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of research into how students learn and the implications for teaching. These topics underpin learning as articulated in the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), The Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG), My Time, Our Place: Framework for School Age Care in Australia, The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA), The National Quality Framework (NQS) and The Australian Curriculum.
