Except with the approval of the Head of the School of Pharmacy and Molecular Sciences, all subjects in a chain must be studied in consecutive teaching periods.

This subject is the fourth of four subjects (the others being CH4004, CH4005, and CH4006) that in combination constitute the part-time subjects required to complete Honours part-time in the Discipline of Chemistry. The subject is a combination of a major research project and a selection of readings/seminars designed to complement the subject matter of the research project.

Learning Outcomes

• to allow students to extend their understanding of chemistry by undertaking advanced level short courses in chemistry;
• to allow students to develop practical skills in Chemistry by undertaking a major research project in a chemistry research laboratory.

Assumed Knowledge:	12 credit points of level 3 CH subjects at Credit level or higher
Prerequisites:	CH4006
Inadmissible Subject Combinations:	CH4001 and CH4002 and CH4003

Availabilities
As this subject is part of a subject chain, a final standard grade (e.g. P, C) will only be recorded for each subject after successful completion of all parts of the subject chain.
