In turbulent times the management of change becomes a critical task for organisational leaders. The challenges of globalisation, new technologies, industry restructuring, increased public scrutiny and other pressures on today's businesses require knowledge and skills relating to change management throughout the organisation. This subject explores concepts and models relating to the nature of change, strategic change and change management. These will be examined as tools for coping with such issues as resistance to change, organisational transformation and uncertainty as organisations strive to achieve greater effectiveness and success.
Learning Outcomes
- explain the nature of organisational change;
- design and develop approaches to manage the process of change;
- analyse and evaluate the management of organisational change;
- critically examine how to lead people through transition and change.
