This subject introduces the discipline of pharmacology and applies the principles of this discipline to management of pain and inflammation. It then introduces the immune system and the inflammatory reaction and how these relate to tissue invasion and injury. Finally, it introduces healthcare related microbiology and some of the major the pathogens which invade the body to cause disease and illness
