This subject will introduce students to the role of evaluation in public health, and will develop student skills in evaluating public health programs. Students will be introduced to the key concepts, approaches and methods that can be used to facilitate public health evaluation and students will develop skills in understanding and assessing the quality of published research focusing on evaluation
Learning Outcomes
- critically appraise the role of evaluation within public health;
- differentiate between formative, process, impact and outcome evaluation;
- critically analyze the qualitative and quantitative measuring instruments used in evaluation;
- create a public health evaluation plan;
- examine the ethical considerations in public health evaluation.
