The main objectives of the Honours program in Sport and Exercise Science are to facilitate the development of the students scientific understanding, practical laboratory skills, independence and advanced knowledge via the completion of an independent project and the production of a thesis. This process involves project design, ethical clearance, data collection and analysis of original data pertinent to the scientific investigation of a research topic. It further involves advanced scientific understanding and practical laboratory and/or field work to determine factors such as physiological and performance outcomes in response to a research question
Learning Outcomes
- develop a research proposal and detailed review of literature pertinent to an original research question in sport & exercise science;
- collect empirical scientific data based on the research proposal in a laboratory and/or field setting;
- scientifically analyse results and develop a report of the outcomes into a thesis.
