Module 1 Voice Impairment: This subject provides the foundation theoretical and professional skills necessary for competent practice in the assessment, diagnosis, prevention and intervention for organic and functional voice impairments across the lifespan. The nature of voice impairments will be explored, including physiological, perceptual and acoustic features. Module 2 Clinical Practicum: Students will work directly, with support from clinical educators with clients with a range of impairments, activity limitations and participation restrictions related to speech, language, voice, fluency, multimodal communication and swallowing. Students will conduct assessments, plan and deliver services for clients, as well as providing community education. Students will reflect on clinical experiences and collate evidence to demonstrate their increasing clinical competence. Students will provide speech pathology services in weekly clinical sessions and will observe sessions in other settings.
