In this subject students will build on knowledge gained in Clinical Nursing Practice 3. They will continue to learn about pathophysiological processes which may affect patients throughout their lifespan. Related medical-surgical nursing skills and professional development will be addressed. Problem-solving skills are emphasised so that students can appropriately, systematically and expeditiously assess a client's functional health status and assist the client to meet his/her functional health care needs. This will be achieved through lectures and professional experience workshops (PEWS), and application of this knowledge in the clinical setting.
