Students enrolling in this subject produce a portfolio of advanced creative works by means of a written contract negotiated with the subject coordinator. The subject involves the study of contemporary practice in the field of media design through research and practice. Students develop a series of self-directed projects, and undertake autonomous research towards the development of their individual approach and aesthetic. The projects may include publications (magazine, brochures, etc), posters and flyers, interactive works, time-based works, brands and logo development. The goal is to develop as a media design practitioner, with a portfolio of work grounded by an awareness of audience, method and market, and a view towards developing a sustainable practice after graduation.
