This subject introduces concepts and techniques associated with the production of screen-based arts. Through investigating and understanding the role of narrative, expression, and temporality, students develop an understanding of time-based production. The context of time and motion, and the control of temporal elements through production techniques, is imparted through practical examples and the storyboarding of students own projects. A range of contexts for both the creation of motion effects and the dissemination of screen-based outcomes are provided. The influences of screen-based creative work on contemporary visual culture are explored through lectures and student investigations. A screen festival marks the culmination of the subject.
