This subject provides students with an opportunity to view contemporary art in a range of galleries and exhibitions in Europe. Students will have opportunities to critically review artworks and exhibitions. There will be opportunities to make observations about the nature of contemporary art and to apply these observations to the production of new original work.
Learning Outcomes
- Identify and discuss the major theoretical perspectives in particular disciplines in creative arts;
- Create new works of art or design as a response to the experience of travelling and visiting museums and major contemporary art exhibitions;
- Locate works of art or design within the framework contemporary arts practice;
- Identify and discuss trends in contemporary art and design practices;
- analysis and reflect contemporary art and design exhibitions.
