This module enables participants to develop comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the community in which they live and work, with particular focus on the rurality of their community. Participants will explore and engage with their community through community-based activities.
Learning Outcomes
- Explore the local rural and remote community and describe the community characteristics, needs and priorities;
- Compile a community profile that will inform the health professionals role in a rural and remote community context;
- Engage with the community to develop social and professional networks;
- Examine cultural competence and its relevance to the health professionals role within the community.
