In this subject students will explore the factors that impact on the behaviour of individuals in the workplace and how these factors can be taken into account to ensure the experience of the individual leads to positive organisational and individual outcomes. Consideration will be given to the individual's values, attitudes, personality and motivation and how these influence the individual experience as well as the work they do in teams. Organisation wide factors impacting behaviour such as structure, design and culture will also be introduced with a focus on person-organisation fit. This subject will be framed by psychological theory from which students will develop a sound understanding of the theoretical approaches to organisational behaviour.
Learning Outcomes
- integrate and apply an advanced understanding of organisational behaviour theories and models;
- design safe and effective workplace strategies for improving individual and organisational performance;
- integrate and apply an advanced understanding of the factors that can impact individual behaviour at work to make appropriate recommendations to enhance individual and organisational outcomes;
- convey propositions, strategies, recommendations, conclusions and professional decisions through advanced oral and written communication skills.
