This subject addresses project management both from a general perspective and from an R2R specific point of view. The subject establishes: the fundamentals of managing projects, issues of project selection, project initiation, operation and control. The subject discusses the demands made on project managers, their interaction with stakeholders, the ethical issues they face and project termination. Further, issues associated with planning and managing projects utilising scalable project software tools are examined.
Learning Outcomes
- appraise and demonstrate key concepts, processes and procedures of project management;
- develop experience in using project management software and relevant project management tools R2R problems;
- apply project management techniques in solving real world problems;
- critically examine benefits and limitations of implementing project management theories in the ridge to reef context through a business lens;
- analyse the influence of PMBOK with R2R applications of project management.
