This subject assists students to develop the knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary for planning, teaching and assessing learnings in Health and Physical Education in primary years relevant to State and National curriculum and initiatives. Students will examine the pedagogical models and trends influencing primary years Health and Physical Education (HPE), including the educative purpose, strengths-based and inquiry approaches, health literacy, valuing movement, the role of play, social sustainability and Indigenous perspectives. Approaches to developing learner-centred, integrated and inclusive learning experiences are emphasised.
