This subject covers material of direct relevance to the Financial Reporting segment of the CPA Professional Program. The subject provides candidates with financial reporting, technical accounting and business skills and values that are applicable in a professional and global environment. Specific areas covered include: the International Financial Reporting Standards; the role, importance and presentation of the financial statements; elements within the financial statements; and financial instruments.
Learning Outcomes
- explain the application and basis of selected IFRSs issued by the IASB;
- explain details relating to general purpose financial statement;
- prepare general purpose financial statements for designated entities using the exercise of professional judgment;
- appraise the general purpose financial statements to provide information for decision making purposes;
- apply International Financial Reporting Standards in the preparation of general purpose financial statements.
