This subject introduces students to the amazing biodiversity on planet Earth. It provides an introduction to the genesis and evolution of various life forms across earth's history, with an emphasis on the major groups of plants and animals. Primarily, we focus on aspects of their classification, morphology, physiology, behaviour, ecology and evolution. We also investigate the chemical and cellular basis of life that influences the form, function and behaviour of these different life forms.
