BX3013 focuses on managerial decision making, shows the linkages between organizational strategies and management accounting tools and techniques, and requires students to develop skills for performance evaluation and control of organizational activities. The subject equips students with the tools to prepare and analyse costing and pricing information for internal and external purposes, offers insights into business strategies in costing and pricing of products and services, mainly in for-profit manufacturing and service organisations. Students also develop critical analysis and evaluation skills to judge managerial and organizational performance in the context of relevant industrial, economic, social and environmental contexts. The subject is a requirement for students completing a BBus (Accounting) degree and builds on and extends the content of BX2012.
Learning Outcomes
- develop and apply costing information for planning and strategic control purposes, and interpret findings;
- articulate the linkage between organisational strategies and managerial accounting tools and techniques commonly used in decision making, planning and control;
- critically analyse and evaluate managerial, divisional and organization performance in internal and external contexts.
