This subject provides an introduction to the discipline of finance and the practice of corporate financial management. Topics include the time value of money, risk and return, cost of capital,capital structure, capital budgeting and short term financial management.
Learning Outcomes
- acquire life-long learning skills through reflecting on the effectiveness of learning activities and performance in assessment;
- apply financial management knowledge of selected topics, including: decisions involving time, risk and cash flows such as security valuation and short-term financial management; capital budgeting; weighted average cost of capital and capital structure; and derivatives;
- appraise financial management decisions using financial theory;
- demonstrate financial management computational skills;
- appraise computational answers using the logic of finance.
