This subject builds on the content introduced in BM1051 Anatomy and Physiology for Speech Pathology 1. This subject will comprise a detailed study of the central nervous system. Students will study the structure of the human brain and spinal cord and the neural pathways underlying sensory, motor and cognitive functions. Students will be given the opportunity to develop an integrated understanding of the brain through practical sessions, including the study of human cadaveric material and functional and clinical case-studies to facilitate the integration of material and the correlation to practice.
