Aquaculture is the fastest growing agro-business sector comprising the successful management and integration of five key topic areas - Disease, Sustainability, Feed & Nutrition, Animal Physiology and Breeding & Genetics. This subject takes a big picture view of each of these areas, and looks at the short to long term impact and development of each with a special focus on how to apply this knowledge within the aquaculture business sector. This subject also looks at major trends in aquaculture and the impact these may have in a rapidly growing food sector

Students enrolling in this subject should have an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (eg marine biology, biology or aquaculture) or have acquired equivalent knowledge through other study or industry experience. They should have an excellent understanding of science subjects including basic biology chemistry aquaculture and statistics
Prerequisites:AQ5806 or equivalent
