This subject requires the student to be involved actively in seminar presentation and participation regarding issues which students, both group and individuals, have decided are important for their on-going development and practice. In particular students are required to consider the transition from social work students to professional practitioners and to reflect on previous learning and future opportunities. Distance Education students should attend either Cairns or Townsville block mode.
Learning Outcomes
- On completion of this subject students will: have a comprehensive understanding of the major issues and dilemmas facing the social work profession;
- demonstrate the ability to critically reflect on the AASW code of ethics and practice standards in relation to their own development;
- demonstrate their preparedness personally and professionally for entry into practice.
