This subject provides students with an introduction to looking at health care systems through an economic lens. The course is designed to be practical and will give students the necessary tools to design and implement an economic evaluation. The course will cover the role of economics in the health system, how economics influences the funding of the health system, how the health system influences the wider economy, cost of illness studies, measurement of health outcomes, measurement of costs, and measuring indirect costs and benefits.
