This subject provides students with an advanced understanding of the dynamics of sport and exercise behaviour. Emphasis is given to the key research topics undertaken within the field of human behaviour in sport and exercise. Students will critically appraise current literature in order to develop greater understanding of the role of research in sport and exercise science. Subject content will include positive psychology, emotional intelligence, team leadership, athlete motivation, team cohesion, mood and aggression in sport, children in sport, and coaching behaviour.
Learning Outcomes
- To develop advanced skills in the critical analysis and evaluation of sport and exercise science research;
- To gain an understanding of the dynamics of human behaviour in sport and exercise using a variety of theoretical approaches and research methods.
