PS5101 - Clinical Expert Updates for Physiotherapy

Registered Australian Physiotherapist. Completion of an overseas recognised physiotherapy qualification. Completion of this subject within the degree Masters of Rehabilitation (Physiotherapy) will not enable Australian registration of overseas qualified physiotherapists.

Students enrolled in this subject will have access to some of Australia's foremost physiotherapy, health and medical practitioners. Lectures from up to 10 expert practitioners will be provided. The presentation topics will focus on current trends and innovations in practice in different areas of specialisation. The range of topics will be useful to the rural clinician in Australia and overseas. Teaching guides will be used to help students identify their own learning needs and goals within the various topic areas. Topics will address core clinical areas including cardiorespiratory, neurological and musculoskeletal practice as well as specialty areas of practice such as burns, amputees and women's health. Assessment will be through application of the lecture content to the student's own clinical practice in case study format and a negotiated clinical experience.
