Learning Outcomes

• Appreciate at the cellular level the difference between cell degeneration and death, and know how cells adapt to an altered extracellular environment;
• Describe in general terms the procedures routinely used in diagnostic pathology;
• Describe the cellular changes that occur in such states as genetic disorders, inflammation, immunopathology and neoplasia;
• Understand how cells respond to diverse types of injury.
