Students must be employed minimum 0.4FTE in a Neonatal/Midwifery Unit for the duration of this subject.

<b>CONCURRENT NEONATAL/MIDWIFERY UNIT EMPLOYMENT (MINIMUM 0.4FTE) REQUIRED.</b> This subject will develop theoretical knowledge of the 'at risk' newborn. This knowledge will be applied with a family centred focus within the clinical practice setting. The knowledge gained will enable the practitioner to interpret signs elicited by the 'at risk' newborn, identify the related anatomical, physiological and pathophysiological processes and evaluate the outcomes of a plan of care.
