In this subject students examine the relationship between sound and the moving image in the context of the mass media formats of television drama, documentary and music video. Students will develop practical skills within a series of tutorials and utilise these skills to produce a set of assignments focussed on sound in television drama, documentary and music video.
Learning Outcomes
- undertake basic analysis tasks relevant to sound and music as applied in mass media settings;
- understand theories and terminology relevant to sound and the moving image in mass media formats;
- use practical skills to develop soundtrack elements for the moving image in mass media formats.
