This subject provides students with an opportunity to view contemporary art in a range of galleries and exhibitions in Europe. Students will have opportunities to critically review artworks and exhibitions. There will be opportunities to make observations about the nature of contemporary art and to apply these observations to the production of new original work.
Learning Outcomes
- identify trends in contemporary art practices;
- identify and discuss the major theoretical perspectives in particular disciplines in creative arts;
- undertake analysis and reflection of contemporary art and write an exhibition review;
- create new artwork as a response to the experience of travelling and visiting museums and major contemporary art exhibitions;
- locate their artwork within the framework of their discipline of contemporary arts practice.
