English for Academic Purposes Level 4 is designed to cover four main areas of reading, writing, listening and oral communication. The subject is an English for Academic Purposes(EAP)course based on discussion of topics related to the modern globalised world. The subject will enable students to develop their English proficiency to a high level and increase access to JCU tertiary programs, especially postgraduate programs that require 6.5 level IELTS equivalence.
Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate understanding of key issues of importance in the globalised world;
- Demonstrate practical oral skills through presentations;
- Locate and analyse information from a range of resources;
- Understand, analyse and present arguments on a range of issues;
- Demonstrate understanding of spoken academic discourse;
- Produce academic essays and reports, using appropriate style and format.
