English for Academic Purposes Level 3 is designed to cover four main areas of reading, writing, listening and oral communication. The subject is an English for Academic Purposes (EAP) course based on discussion of topics related to the modern globalised world. The subject will enable students to develop their English proficiency to a high level and increase access to JCU tertiary programs, especially programs that require IELTS level 6.0 level equivalence.
Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate understanding of a variety of spoken discourse;
- Display critical thinking on academic topics through speech and writing;
- Derive meaning of specific details from different types of discourse;
- Produce academic essays, following Australian university conventions;
- Read academic texts, using appropriate reading techniques.
