Credit points: 03
Year: 2016

Administered by: College of Business, Law & Governance

Complexity accompanies many leadership challenges. This subject will investigate complexity and competing values and perspectives. In small groups, students will analyse a contemporary, emotive Australian rural issue that will be presented to them from multiple and competing, legitimate perspectives. Students will examine their preconceived ideas and values and wrestle with contested positions. Solutions to the issue are not sought but students are asked to present a 'meta' understanding in terms of: processes; legitimate, multiple perspectives; individual preconceived perceptions and assumptions; and tensions associated with issues.
