This subject focuses on equipping students with the analytical skills necessary to unpack and understand complex conflicts. Students are introduced to a range of theories, frameworks and models assisting with the analysis of conflict situations. Students undertake critical analysis of a range of conflicts to develop a deeper level of understanding of a conflict assessment process. The subject also introduces students to selecting appropriate conflict interventions and management strategies to deal with the conflict they have previously analysed.
Learning Outcomes
- synthesize complex conflict and related theories and standards for professional practice in CMR;
- critically analyse a range of complex conflicts and conflict management systems;
- provide general advice to assist individuals, groups and organisations to constructively manage conflict;
- effectively communicate with people in conflict (such as personal, group, organisational or cross-cultural conflict);
- autonomously reflect on and assess their own capabilities and performance and make use of feedback as appropriate, to support personal and professional development.
