This subject introduces students to a broad examination of the relationship between human geography and the social sciences. Students will be able to appreciate the challenges facing the nation-state and our understanding of political community. Students will be exposed to a new spectrum with the increase in globalisation, finance and culture. Many students will also appreciate the concept of environmentalism and its implications. Finally, students need to conceptualise the reshaping of places and their cultural and political identities in the wake of globalisation and localism.
