The primary goal of this subject is to foster pre-service teacher development towards the Graduate Teacher Australian Professional Standard requirements in the context of digital and design technologies. Upon completion of this subject, graduate student teachers will be able to approach the teaching of technologies positively and with an accurate and thorough understanding of learning experiences that critically respond to community-based priorities and satisfy The Australian Curriculum: Technologies. Through a focus on pedagogical practices that support learning, especially through differentiated practice for diverse learners associated with the teaching of technology, students will meet the aims of the Australian Curriculum: Technologies. The acquisition of explicit knowledge of the curriculum and the design of learning activities will be the focus of the subject. Students will need to develop and demonstrate a thorough understanding of the content and processes of technology education and how to teach this effectively through differentiated instruction including the design and development of online learning activities and well-managed learning environments, along with the integration of digital technologies in their designs for learning. Students not only develop an understanding of data collection but also the nature of data and data visualisation.
